"A room in the landscape"

An intervention / insertion project. We were required to work within an existing stone tower; of which we could remove no more than 10% of the existing fabric and extend the footprint of the structure by no more than 25%. The structure had to be independent of the tower and vertical circulation in the form of stairs was a requirement. The camera obscura room must offer 360 dergee views, and fit at least 7 people inside at any given time. As an architectural technology project, this project had strict design parameters and 1:33 scale models showing construction details were necessary.
