"A society of rooms"

The project was designed to explore ideas about solid and void and how one might define the character of volumes by light, surfaces, materials and details, and how they relate to human scale and occupation.

​

Throughout the module we were asked to produce life drawings, casting models and working models which developed week by week. The design developed from one room outwards, and we were only told further parts of the brief once certain exercises were complete, for example, the location for the bath house was only revealed on week 8, and we had to adapt our preliminary designs to the contours, views and street presence of the site.
